I am Brita Hammit, an energetic leader with a passion for transforming ordinary experiences into opportunities for discovery, celebration and growth. Creating space for others to discover God’s presence in their lives is my calling, and Pink Shoes Ministries is my platform for providing spiritual companionship, retreats, workshops and small group gatherings for women.

My ministry is built on…

IDENTITY

Every human being is made in the image of the triune God (also known as love).

I will honor your innate beauty and unique place in this world.

OVERSPILL

On account of our holy DNA, all of life has a spiritual component. When we try to put God in a box, that’s when things get messy, because love cannot be contained! There will be overspill.

So… let’s unpack that box, shall we?

ACTION

God is love, and love is a verb. If you’re looking for evidence of God in your life, start with the places and people where love is at work.

I’m all about keeping love the main thing.

I have a B.A. in Education, an M.A. in Christian Studies/Leadership, and I’m a Certified Spiritual Director through CFDM Arizona where I also serve as Co-Executive Director. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and although I come at life from a Christian perspective, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds.

In my 20 years of ministry experience in faith-based settings and 9 years of serving with non-profit organizations, I have followed the energy of the Spirit in my life.

I will meet you right where you are, in whatever state you find yourself in.

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing, and the main thing is Love.

Brita’s Rule of Life

Books by Brita:

Want What You’ve Got! “Thou shalt not covet.” For today’s woman, there is plenty to wrestle with when it comes to applying the wisdom of the Tenth Commandment to everyday living. Teacher and retreat leader Brita Hammit invites readers on a 30-day devotional journey toward embracing what we’ve got – which is everything! – in Christ!

Trek to the Manger: Advent Devotions for Women on the Move Advent should be an adventure! One that honors tradition without bowing the knee to retail-bullying. One that embraces fun and gift-giving without breaking the bank. One that engages more of me than just my schedule and my credit card. The season of Advent may appear to have been hijacked by a relentless stream of commercial messages – but this year can be different! Instead of plodding through another stress-filled holiday, women on the move are choosing a different route to Christmas morning.
